Sailing, Sun, Swimsuits & Snorkeling: Caribbean Perfection

By midweek of our high seas excursion on board Windjammer Sailing Adventures' The Mandalay, Silva and I had effectively built a somewhat quirky reputation amongst our fellow passengers.

The two single girls on board ran late, set off fire alarms and had an uncanny way of getting all up in people's business (after all we are both reporters...) but I think even with all that, it seemed folks liked us. Seriously... how can anyone on board a tall-ship in the Caribbean not get along with one another when your days consists of breakfast, swimming, snorkeling, exploring islands, drinking rum punch and dancing under the stars on the top deck? What's not to love?? Grenada is beautiful as well as the collecting of unspoiled islands of the West Indies.

So, with the other minor travel snafus we brought upon ourselves, I also discovered moments before our first snorkeling excursion, that I had packed THE WRONG batteries to power my GoPro camera. When I told Silva...she just raised her eyebrow and gave me "that look." Yeah...I'm used to it. This time, she had every right. Leaving behind camera gear when you are a journalist is like forgetting to fill your air tank when you are a diver. You just don't do it!

Thankfully, our new on-board friend, Robert, was kind enough offer up his underwater video services, so we could share some of the beauty of snorkeling at a small, untouched slice of heaven known as Sandy Island.  Enjoy - and more to come!
